quel prodigio di arte povera nonostante sia una fonte inesauribile di grattacapi e' diventato mio amico, ci diamo del tu e ogni tanto mi trovo a parlarci...
mi riferisco al Sig Nick della Le Feuvre maritime technologies (technologies di che??),unico referente in europa per quella marca,ma solo perche' gira i mercatini
per l'ennesima volta che gli chiedo un consiglio, su come risolvere un problema di errata carburazione, lui mi risponde che c'e' da cambiare tutto e che e' meglio se compro da lui...

My BVR is giving me some problems on its tillotson carb.
i've noticed that the carb is backfiring as soon as i open the throttle, this takes the engine to stall,with all the related problems..
i've spent an entire day finding the perfect idle,and now runs very smooth on idle (it starts at the first try, even when cold,without choke,weather it's quite hot here).
spark plug, wire, diaphragm have been changed 2 months ago (after 9 months of winter pause out of the water).
i suppose that the problem isn't related to ignition,in fact last year it runs flawlessy.
any ideas on which settings,for the high rpm, are needed to solve the problem?

e questa e' la sua risposta:
check timing is ok, and you have a blue spark on a new plug £4 on the
tip only
if timing is out, probably wrong points gap or burnt, change £25
if you tried all that, then its a new carb. they were not designed to
last 30 years plus in salt air with salt fuel (breathes in by diffusion
- unstoppable)
in my experience a complete new carb kit £42 and professional 1 hour £30
overhaul and tuning session restores less than 50% of carbs over 10
years old. the rest leak or cough or just sound rough due i deduce to
unclearable airways corroding closed in the upper half
so its straightforward decision after making sure tuning, blocked jets
and diapram are ok, its the carn £165, last 2 left in stock this summer.
if you want send it here and i will spend an hour £30 plus postage plus
full kit £42 + return £10, but it will probably be fruitless from what
you say and you still need to get the new one extra cost.

if your points are not perfectly flat and shiny i would not risk another
important voyage with them and order at the same time, £25 no extra postage

beppe e' bastato smontare/aprire il carburatore guardarlo un po' torvo e rimontarlo...
ripartito tutto alla grande (come sempre)...
maximo ha un 7 e non un 6...

Avevo, ora non più ho comprato un lombardini diesel bicilindrico nuovo di pacca, basta vire.
Il mio l'ho regalato al cantiere dove ho acquistato la barca.
