I vantaggi sono come quelli avuti sui motori delle macchine oltre alla facilità di fare in modo di superare con più semplicità le restrizioni ambientali.
I vantaggi sono molti ma nel mondo marino deve rimanere l affidabilità come primo punto. Per un po' di gasolio sporco non deve fermarsi il motore ad esempio e con un common rail invece succede!!
