Ho proseguito nell'indagine nella sezione "Knowledgebase" di Raymarine e sui problemi di calibrazione dei vecchi ST60 (con preciso riferimento a quelli marchiati "Raytheon") ho trovato quanto segue in risposta allo stesso problema di calibrazione posto da un utente.

HI Drew,
The older ST60 preceded the hemispherical cups by too many years and so at that time the wind cal was not expected to need such a large change in calibration, so the adjustment range was limited. ST60+ displays had a wider range to include 0.7.

In pratica dice che la calibrazione di velocita' sui vecchi prodotti ST60 e' perfettamente possibile ma limitatamente ad un coefficiente di correzione minimo di 0,75. E leggendo in altre sezioni la correzione per quegli strumenti e' possibile solo +/-25%, cosa che e' stata ampliata nelle versioni successive.
A migliore descrizione di quanto piu' sopra detto per il "Reset di Fabbrica" qui un video molto chiaro in proposito (e'su un ST60+ ma la procedura e' identica in tutte le versioni):
