Antiscivolo quale?

TI racconto la mia esperienza

1) anti-skid iniziale grigio chiaro (credo vernice bicomponente + microsfere)
ponte bollente e si scivolava come pazzi

2) sono andato avanti poi per 10 anni con un antisdrucciolo monocomponente, l'INTERNATIONAL antiskid monocomponente(una sorta di vernice bucciata) bianco ma che coloravo aggiungendo un po' di rosso e di nero (molto più freddo sotto al sole e molto piu' efficace e facile da applicare). Difetti al sole il rosso sbiadisce subito e accumula sporco e unto facilmente per cui bisogna lavarlo con l'idro di tanto in tanto. Ho il sospetto (mai confermato) che con l'acqua lentamente si degradi e lasci delle inestetiche colate sulle fiancate (io ho lo scafo rosso e si vedono) ma ripeto é solo un sospetto. Per il resto un ottimo compromesso

3) recentemente ho fatto prove con la Kiwigrip. Una addizionata con un nero fino a raggiungere una tonalità di grigio simile allo sfondo (quasi) del forum. Facile da dare, bella la sensazione sotto i piedi ed a me piace anche l'estetica. Così grigia scalda. Allora ho contattato la Kiwi e mi hanno detto che le loro prove comparative condotte tra bianco e varie tonalità di grigio hanno rilevato diferenze poco significative. Ti allego larisposta

Our grey KiwiGrip is exactly the same as white kiwigrip except we've added 7.5cc of black liquid tint. This creates a light shade of grey that doesn't get too hot under feet yet still provides a nice contrast with surrounding white glossy surfaces.

A few years ago I did some temperature testing in Honolulu, Hawaii. Here's what I found:

Air Temp 80F
Dark grey primer temp (on steel deck) 110F
White KiwiGrip 84F
Cream KiwiGrip 86F
Grey KiwiGrip 88F

I understand from my paint chemist that black tint greatly increases the KiwiGrip's heat absorption.

The deck temperature is mostly a function of color rather than material so I expect that other similarly colored surfaces (metal, fiberglass, plastic, etc.) would all register the same surface temp. The materials, of course, have different abilities to hold and conduct the heat away from the surface. You can run a quick experiment for yourself. Take some of your grey kiwigrip to your paint store as ask them to add 2% titanium oxide white tint to a small bit of KiwiGrip. This will lighten it considerably but won't get you all the way back to white. Then apply the lighter stuff and use an IR/Laser thermometer to measure the surface temperature of light vs darker KiwiGrip.
