Questo il testo della mail che ho inviato oggi:
Gentlemen,
I bought last spring (2013) from Your company a “Ray Gyro” which promised to enhance the St 6000 autopilot performances.
I carried out all the calibration and setting procedures as per Your manual and, as a matter of fact, the “performance” of the autopilot under quarter seas on a straight course are much better.
BUT your product is VERY DANGEROUS as it is absolutely UNSTABLE: once turned on I have to wait ONE OR TWO HOURS (it depends I don’t know what from) to be able to set a stable course: the autopilot tends to veer to starboard and then to port, in ever widening angles, until it does one or two 360° turns (I admit that I never tried and see if it would go for a third, fourth, fifth circle……).
The same behavior is shown if I modify by, say, 20° or 30° a given course, typically when I reach a waypoint.
In summary Your product seems to be completely useless, in a maritime world.
I’m afraid to tell You that many boat owners I know have experienced the same problem.
One possibility is that Your device feeds to erratic /to high current to the Raymarine autopilot, but I’m not an electronician
What Are Your comments? What is Your proposed course of action?
My best regards,
