Questa raccomandazione vale per tutti i motori a prescindere se turbo o no, comunque il turbo compressore di un motore non ha un regime di "partenza", gira sempre, poco o tanto non dipende nemmeno dai giri del motore ma dalla quantità dei gas di scarico ossia dal carico del motore sotto sforzo. Ad esempio a 1200 giri in folle il turbo gira molto meno che a 1200 giri con elica che gira.

Comunque far girare il motore in folle in banchina d'inverno è assolutamente inutile e deleterio, al limite può essere utile ingranare l'invertitore
