Quelli nuovi hanno l'attacco per un filo che viene usato sulle barche "bonded" (usato sul mercato americano, in genere) che collegano TUTTE le parti metalliche della barca a contatto con l'acqua, tra loro (equipotenzialità) e vanno agli zinchi sacrificali. Esistono comunque le prese a mare di plastica che hanno l' O-ring e non fanno corrente galvanica.
