Hi all,
I'm an Italian customer and owner of a 2008 beneteau first 45 with yanmar of 54 hp and sail drive sd50 and a 18 inches 3 blade left flex-o-fold propeller. The boat has a f-o-f since first day and now She has about 700 engine hours. During my last maintenance job I discovered many micro craters above surface of the blades in both side as showed in attach picture, could you explain me the origin of these craters? What can I do?
Let me know if you need other informations
Regards
Dear Marcello
have you had your boat onto shore power? As it seems like you have had a small hit of electrolysis (would explain the small craters), but it wouldn’t make any differences in performance of the prop/blades – you just need to make sure it won’t repeat again.
Best regards/Mit freundlichen Grüssen/venlig hilsen
